After a 30+ year career in illustration and cartooning I have turned to fine art which allows me to continue doing what I love doing the most, which is drawing and painting.
After drawing and painting for about a year and a half, my first exposure in the world of fine art was the Phippen Museum’s Western Art Show & Sale on Memorial Weekend 2017 at the beautiful Prescott, AZ Court House Square. It was an honor to show my work along with some of the best Western Artists in the country. It was a successful first showing of my work.
I also entered my “Prescott Station” charcoal pencil drawing in the Prescott Valley Art Guild’s “Fall for the Arts” jured competition 2017 and won 1st. place in the drawing category, and also the peoples choice award.
The following year it won an award from the Prescott
Western Heritage Foundation, awarded at the 2018 Phippen Western Art show and sale Memorial weekend
during the awards ceremony.
All my work is on display on my web site genevandervoortfineart.com and hopefully in a gallery or two soon.
The drawing is called Prescott Station. It is a 24”x30” charcoal pencil drawing on Canson Paper
